Job summary

Delta Precision Components is seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to lead quality assurance and control across our Michigan facility. You will drive AS9100, ISO 9001, and IATF compliance while developing a high‑performing quality team and partnering with Engineering and Operations to elevate product quality and process capability.

The role requires a strong background in aerospace/precision manufacturing, extensive audit experience, and a data-driven mindset to reduce defects and costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of Quality Management experience in manufacturing, preferably aerospace/precision machining.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing quality personnel and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
• Strong statistical analysis, process control, root cause analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience conducting internal and external audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the company's AS9100, ISO 9001 and IATF Quality Management System.
• Ensure compliance with automotive, aerospace, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and develop Quality Department personnel, including inspectors, technicians, and quality engineers.
• Oversee internal, customer, certification, and regulatory audits.
• Direct actions related to calibration systems, corrective actions, preventive actions, nonconformance, and continual improvement.
• Analyze quality performance metrics and data trends to identify risks and opportunities.
• Develop and implement quality objectives, procedures, and standards for operational excellence.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective action using established quality methodologies.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Lead supplier quality initiatives and support supplier performance improvements.
• Develop and deliver quality training programs across the organization.
• Monitor quality costs, scrap, rework, and customer returns.

Delta Gear is an AS9100 and ISO 9001 certified precision manufacturing company serving the aerospace, automotive, and commercial industries. We specialize in the manufacture of precision gears, differential components, prototype and production gear systems. Delta Gear is also a NADCAP-accredited Non-Destructive Testing facility with Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Nital Etch.

Position Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all quality assurance and quality control activities at the assigned location/plant to ensure products consistently meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company objectives. This role provides leadership for quality personnel, drives continuous improvement initiatives, manages customer and supplier quality performance, and ensures compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP, IATF and customer-specific requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with a strong background in aerospace and automotive manufacturing, precision machining, quality systems, root cause analysis, and team development.

• Lead and maintain the company's AS9100, ISO 9001 and IATF Quality Management System.
• Ensure compliance with automotive, aerospace, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and develop Quality Department personnel, including inspectors, technicians, and quality engineers.

• Partner with Engineering and Operations to improve product quality, process capability, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Serve as the primary quality contact for customers and suppliers for the assigned location regarding quality concerns, audits, corrective actions, and quality system requirements.
• Lead supplier quality initiatives and support supplier performance improvement efforts.
• Develop and deliver training programs to increase quality awareness and ensure compliance throughout the organization.
• Monitor quality costs, scrap, rework, customer returns, and internal nonconformance trends.
• Support new product development, process validations, First Article Inspections (FAI), and PPAP/APQP activities as required.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects and improving customer satisfaction.

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of Quality Management experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably Aerospace and precision machining, gear manufacturing, or complex metal component manufacturing.
• Thorough understanding of Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing quality personnel and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, process control, root cause analysis, and problem‑solving methodologies.
• Experience conducting and managing internal and external audits.

Preferred

• Quality certifications such as CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE, or equivalent.
• Proven ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and executive leadership.
• Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making capabilities.
• Experience utilizing quality tools including SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, 8D, 5 Why, DMAIC Methodology.
• Exceptional skills with data capture and analysis, including presenting to executive teams
• Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with quality systems, inspection methods, CMM reporting, and manufacturing documentation.
