Job summary

SolomonEdwards partners with a well-established precision machining manufacturer to identify a Quality Manager who will lead the Quality Management System and oversee all quality operations in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

This leadership role is hands-on, partnering with production, engineering, and customers to drive continuous improvement, audits, root-cause analysis, and process optimization across the site.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of quality leadership in precision manufacturing.
• Experience inside AS9100-certified QMS.
• NADCAP accreditation experience preferred.
• Strong background in precision CNC machining (5-axis preferred).
• Solid blueprint reading, GD&T, tolerances, and inspection methods.
• Experience leading customer audits and quality teams.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FAI (AS9102), SPC, Lean, Six Sigma, RCA.
• Experience with CMMs (Zeiss a plus).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Quality Inspectors, CMM Programmers, and Quality Engineers.
• Maintain and improve the QMS and ensure AS9100 & NADCAP compliance.
• Lead audits with customers and third parties.
• Serve as liaison between customers and manufacturing to resolve issues.
• Drive continuous improvement across the organization.
• Monitor quality metrics like scrap, rework, and defects.

We're partnering with a well-established precision machining manufacturer to identify an experienced Quality Manager who will lead the company's Quality Management System and oversee all quality operations in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

This is a leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, partnering with production, engineering, and customers, and driving continuous improvement across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Lead and develop a team of Quality Inspectors, CMM Programmers, and Quality Engineers.
• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) while ensuring compliance with AS9100 and NADCAP standards.
• Lead customer, third-party, and certification audits while maintaining audit readiness.
• Serve as the primary liaison between customers and manufacturing to resolve quality concerns and support product excellence.
• Drive APQP, First Article Inspections (AS9102), MRB activities, and corrective actions.
• Lead root cause investigations using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, FMEA, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to improve quality, reduce defects, and optimize processes.
• Monitor key quality metrics including scrap, rework, PPM, and customer complaints while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of Quality leadership experience within a precision manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing an AS9100-certified Quality Management System.
• Experience supporting or maintaining NADCAP accreditation is highly preferred.
• Strong background in precision CNC machining, preferably within a 5-axis machining environment.
• Solid understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, machining tolerances, and quality inspection methods.
• Experience leading customer audits and managing quality teams.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FAI (AS9102), SPC, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Experience working with CMM inspection equipment (Zeiss experience is a plus).
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder due to ITAR requirements.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment and collaborating closely with shop floor personnel.
