Job summary

ProAmpac is seeking a Quality Leadership professional to direct the Quality Management System and a team responsible for ensuring product quality. You will set and enforce procedures, train staff, and drive corrective actions to meet customer specifications.

The role requires a BS in a technical field and substantial leadership experience in quality/manufacturing, with strong audit and data-analysis skills. This is a full-time position based in Huntley, IL.

Qualifications

• This role requires a BS degree in a technical field and 5 years of leadership experience in Quality/Manufacturing, or 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with ISO 9001, GMP, and GFSI compliance is required.
• Strong data management and analytical skills are preferred.
• Proven coaching, training and effective communication with leadership and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead programs and activities of the quality department.
• Ensure manufacturing and QA procedures are followed and metrics are on target.
• Oversee personnel activities including hiring, termination and performance goals.
• Develop, implement and administer quality specifications and systems.
• Monitor progress against metrics and goals; report findings.
• Interact with customers and suppliers as needed.
• Manage internal and external audits and the complaint/reject process.
• Develop countermeasures for site quality and food safety metrics.

Job description

This position is responsible to meet the goals and objectives of the organization by leading and directing a team overseeing the Quality Management System including, but not limited to the development, setting and enforcement of procedures, policies and standards affecting the Quality of our products. Accountable for ensuring that finished goods meet the specifications of the company and its customers. Leading a quality team

$80,000-$100,000 based on experience

Essential Duties and Tasks

• Manage programs and activities of the quality department

• Work in conjunction with Organizational Quality leadership and Manufacturing Management to ensure all manufacturing and Quality Assurance procedures are being performed and all metrics are on target.

• Responsible for personnel activities including hiring, termination, performance goals setting, and ensuring that all quality personnel are trained to perform their respective job functions.

• Participate in the development, implementation and administration of quality specifications and systems.

• Monitor and report on progress against metrics and goals

• Visit customers and suppliers when necessary.

• Responsible for all activities associated with internal and external audits.

• Manage customer complaint and reject process to ensure accurate root cause analysis, timely response, and determination and implementation of corrective actions.

• Monitor site quality and food safety metrics and develop counter measures as needed.

• Work with manufacturing to ensure product conformance through documented process monitoring and process controls methods.

• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

• BS Degree (preferred in technical area) plus five (5) years of leadership experience in Quality/Manufacturing or ten (10) years of relevant experience

• Comprehensive knowledge of concepts and principles. Prior audit experience and knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, GFSI required

• Strong data management skills preferred.

• Demonstrated understanding of fact-based decision-making and analytical processes related to quality management and process improvement.

• Effective coaching, training and facilitating experience.

• Solid working knowledge of quality processes and related manufacturing

• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Teams, and Outlook

• Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.

• Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.

• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.

• Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
