Job summary

Nucor Towers and Structures seeks a Quality Lead to oversee all quality aspects, guide the leadership on the shift, and ensure compliance with QMS, customer specs, and industry standards.

You will interpret drawings and codes, drive root-cause analysis, and lead process improvements to enhance safety, quality, delivery and cost. A strong background in NDT and certifications is preferred, with a track record of data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree with at least 3 years of quality control/Non-Destructive Testing experience, OR
• At least 5 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing/fabrication facility.
• 5+ years of experience with AISC or ISO quality systems.
• Ability to interpret codes and standards, shop drawings, and customer specifications.
• Highly adaptable, able to quickly adjust to shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment while maintaining a positive attitude and a proactive approach to getting things done promptly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently and make informed, rational, data-driven decisions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of quality management systems, best practices, and processes.
• Contain, evaluate, and disposition nonconforming products; investigate root causes.
• Assist team members with completing necessary certifications to perform duties.
• Train the team on quality requirements, procedures, testing, and use of measuring tools.
• Identify potential risk areas and recommend solutions.
• Identify process improvement initiatives and help execute SQDC projects.
• Work with the plant team on root cause analysis and corrective action resolutions.
• Perform inspection and testing duties as required by customer specs and other requirements.
