MITER Brands in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a Quality Lead for our manufacturing plant. You will direct Quality Technicians, enforce QA systems, and drive corrective actions to reduce defects.

The role requires hands-on leadership, data collection, audits, and close collaboration with line leaders to sustain production quality and safety. Overtime may be required; this is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

  • Clear spoken and written English skills.
  • Basic shop math; fractions/decimals; percentage calculations.
  • Proven ability to participate in or lead a problem-solving team.
  • Understanding of DMAIC and common quality tools.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret specs.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Quality Technicians and ensure compliance with quality systems.
  • Coordinate changes and complete audits and inspections.
  • Collect, process and document quality system data and nonconformances.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Review returned glass and communicate defects to Production.

Job DescriptionPOSITION - Quality Lead - Manufacturing PlantLOCATION - Sacramento, CAHOURLY RATE - $29-$36 per hour - Hourly rate is based on experienceSHIFT - Monday - Friday - 6am to 3:30pmKEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Direction of Quality TechniciansEnsure compliance with established quality systems.Coordinate all changes.Ensure completion of required audits and inspections.Collect and process all quality system documents.Participate in warehouse walks and Conduct follow up.Compile data.Consult with line leaders concerning defects found.Determine corrective actions and implementation.Compile and maintain spreadsheets indicating non-conformance issues and subsequent corrective actions.Review returned glass from customers.Analyze defects.Record on SharePointBring defects to Production departments’ attention.Develop and maintain quality escalation process.To be developedEstablishment and maintain 1st Article Inspection process.Perform all Quality system operations.Perform process audits of equipment setup and conditions to ensure process controls are observed.Assist production in identifying root cause of defect trends. Recommend corrective/containment action as appropriate.Create and execute MPS objectives; meet MPS commitments and work within the guidelines of MPS.Reflect Milgard business values and Milgard Philosophy in all business interactions.Adhere to safety policies and procedures related to all facets of job.Proper usage of personal protective equipment.Perform in-process and final inspection of insulated glass units, windows, and doorsIdentify and segregate nonconforming raw material for disposition.Reports problems and issues to supervisor and production managementThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees in this position.
