Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Walker, MI is seeking an Experienced Advanced Quality Engineer to drive APQP/PPAP activities and ensure customer requirements are met from launch through production. You will coordinate with Program Managers, Quality and Engineering teams to verify FMEAs, control plans and dimensional data meet specifications.

The ideal candidate has a BS degree, 5+ years of related experience, GD&T knowledge, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

BS degree required in engineering or technical field.
Minimum 5+ years of related quality engineering experience.
Knowledge of AIAG, APQP and PPAP is essential.
FMEAs, control plans and dimensional data analysis experience.
Strong communication skills and problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Handle all quality-related launch activities and act as the voice for customers.
Prepare APQP and PPAP documentation for products in launch and ensure customer requirements are met.
Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to verify customer requirements.
Communicate with suppliers to ensure products meet requirements.
Attend program team meetings and develop control plans.
Support evaluation of dimensional tolerancing and fixture/gage requirements.
Assist with die and weld tool runoffs to approve part quality.
Support Safe Launch and handover to plant quality personnel.
Own document storage for launch-phase documents.
