Job summary

Loparex LLC in Hammond, WI is seeking a Lab Technician to support production by performing quality checks and following established safety and production procedures.

Duties include cutting, identifying, and preparing samples for testing, documenting results, and assisting with data entry and sample handling. The role starts on a day shift with a 2-2-3 future schedule and pays $19.50–$22.50 per hour plus premiums.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for customer retention and storage.
• Assist in training new lab personnel and maintaining a clean, organized lab.

Job description

Loparex is looking for a Lab Technician to join our Hammond, WI team! A Lab Technician works with production to ensure a quality product is produced to the customer standards by performing quality checks and following established safety and production procedure.

Day Shift Schedule: 5:00AM - 5:00PM

• Will start out on Monday - Friday 5 am to 5 pm working 4 days during the week with one off and will transition to the schedule below in the future
• 2-2-3 Schedule (2 days on Monday-Thursday; Every other Friday-Sunday off)

Base Pay Rate: $19.50 - $22.50 hourly, $19.50 base pay plus premiums based upon the following:

• 2-2-3 Schedule Premium: additional $2.00 when going to that shift
• Extruder Machine Premium: $1.00/hr.
• Opportunities for additional pay increases if trained as tier 2 or higher lab tech

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

• Cut, identify, and prepare samples of retains from production for testing, document results. Testing includes:
  • Coat Weights
  • Subsequent Adhesions
  • Release, including various wet casts and tape test
  • Extractables
  • Moisture
  • Lay flat testing
  • Physical property testing including but not limited to; basis weight, caliper, tensile, tear, gloss, and Polybond.
• Inspect samples for defects and ensure that material conforms to requirements; inform appropriate personnel when defects are found.
• Perform data entry into various computer databases (including internal rejects, reworks, PRISM< QDMS< shop floor, and excel spreadsheets) as required by quality assurance procedures.
• Put retain samples into cores for customers.
• Store internal samples into cores for customers
• File 8 1/2x 11 samples from production, document samples into spreadsheet provided.
• Purge files when needed.
• Assist quality and production in tagging or removing labels from nonconforming material (red, orange, blue)
• Assist in orientation and training or any new lab tech assigned to the shift.
• At the end of each shift make sure quality lab is clean and organized.
• Perform other associated duties, as assigned.

Skills and Experience
