Job summary

Loparex is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our Hammond, WI facility. The role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems on industrial machinery, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

The Day Shift runs 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM on a 2-2-3 schedule (Mon-Thu, alternating Fri-Sun off). Base pay depends on qualifications, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within a global manufacturing leader.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write, follow verbal and written instructions, perform basic math, and use hand tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safety-conscious mindset.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for 12 hours.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Installs and repairs electrical systems, machinery, and components following codes and schematics.
• Sets up power wiring/conduit for machines, including robots and conveyors.
• Connects power supply wires and cables between machines and equipment.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus using test equipment and replaces damaged components.
• Tests machinery and collaborates with maintenance team to diagnose issues.
• Repairs faulty electrical components and positions sensing devices.
• Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
• Communicates status and shift handoffs to oncoming personnel.

We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to work in the Hammond facility

Day Shift Schedule: 5:00AM - 5:00PM

• 2-2-3 Schedule (2 days on Monday-Thursday; Every other Friday-Sunday off)

Base Pay Rate: Depending on Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.
• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
• Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction.
• Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit using electronic test equipment and hand tools
• Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Effectively communicate with prior and oncoming shift personal regarding status of runs, status, etc.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity and customers.
• Requires the ability to read and write, follow verbal and written instructions, use basic math, take accurate measurements and use hand tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Strong interpersonal and team skills.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand/walk for 12 hours.
