Job summary

HSM is seeking a Quality Inspector in Hickory, NC to join our manufacturing quality team. You will inspect incoming materials, first pieces, in-process items, and finished goods, ensuring conformance to drawings, specs, and ISO 9001 standards.

With at least two years of hands-on inspection experience, you will read drawings, control plans, and work instructions, using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and labels, maintaining product traceability and supporting corrective

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of hands-on quality inspection experience in manufacturing, or equivalent demonstrated proficiency.
• The ability to read drawings, specifications, work instructions, and control plans.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 practices and experience using inspection equipment.
• Clear communication, sound judgment, and a commitment to safe, accurate work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, first pieces, work in process, and finished products against drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other equipment to check dimensions, fit, appearance, and labeling.
• Record inspection results accurately and maintain product traceability.
• Identify and contain nonconforming materials, communicate concerns, and support corrective actions.
• Help investigate recurring defects and improve inspection methods and work instructions.
