Job summary

HSM, headquartered in Hickory, NC, is seeking a Quality Inspector to uphold our high standards in manufacturing across multiple industries. You will inspect raw materials through finished goods, ensuring conformance to drawings and specifications, and maintain traceability throughout the process.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of two years in quality inspection, can read complex drawings, and are proficient with ISO 9001 practices and inspection tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years of hands-on quality inspection manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, work instructions and control plans.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 practices and inspection equipment usage.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, first pieces, in-process and finished products against drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges and other equipment to check dimensions, fit, appearance and labeling.
• Record inspection results accurately and maintain product traceability.
• Identify and contain nonconforming materials, communicate concerns, and support corrective actions.
• Help investigate recurring defects and improve inspection methods and work instructions.
