Job summary

Vantedge Medical in Durham, CT is seeking a Quality Inspector II for the 1st shift. You will inspect incoming and outgoing material and components to ensure they meet specifications, with duties performed independently under written instructions and schedules.

The role requires 3-6 months related experience or training, a high school diploma (GED preferred), and the ability to read, write, and present information clearly.

Qualifications

• Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information clearly to customers, clients and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Perform Daily Audits on supporting jobs.
• Perform Final Disposition and Rework of Product culled from 100% Final Inspection.
• Perform Hand Rework or Sort on any CNC or Assembly product dispositioned from MRB.
• Perform Hand Rework or Sort on any Parts Culled from inspections at Assembly Welding
• Print (when applicable) SPC data from QC Calc software.
• Track and log scrap defects and report to Quality Supervisor Monthly.
• Perform In-Process and Final Inspections using established procedures and methods. Document accurately & thoroughly.
• Communicate inspection results to Engineering and department leads in an orderly and timely manner.
• Utilize on a daily basis measuring equipment such as Micrometers, Calipers, Drop Indicators, Profile projectors, Tool Makers Measuring Microscope, Vision systems, Rockwell Hardness Tester, etc.
• Train inspectors & Operators on QC department equipment and inspection procedures.
• Available to work Saturday on a rotational basis.
• Respectfully collaborates with peers while maintaining good attendance and punctuality.
• Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment by following 6S standards.
• Properly follow all H&M procedures and policies.
• Use correct P.P.E per JHAs and Job Description.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including the Idea System.
• Perform all other duties as assigned
