Job summary

Vantedge Medical Company is seeking a Quality Inspector II for the first shift onsite in California. The role focuses on in-process and lot inspections, documenting findings, and advising operators on deviations.

You will train and advise the Trainee Inspector position, ensuring accuracy and adherence to prints and work orders. Responsibilities include preparing quality reports, recording results in shopfloor software, and supporting ISO 13485 and 9001 objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of inspection experience in metal fabrication.
• Measuring tools: Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gage, Test Indicator & calibration.
• Strong math skills and ability to read blueprints.
• Read, write and communicate in English.
• Familiar with quality management systems and calibration.
• General inspection knowledge, metrology, plating and painting.
• Computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes inspections based on workload and job priorities.
• Inspects product at receiving and in-process inspection from suppliers, specifically plating and custom-made parts.
• Inspects product In-Process (1st Piece) supplied by the operator against prints and work orders.
• Advises operators on deviations and possible corrections.
• Performs Lot inspection on products ready to move to the next operation.
• Records inspection results into Shopfloor software linked to Visual Manufacturing.
• Creates and compiles quality records per QMS or customer requirements.
• Assists the Director of Quality in maintaining ISO 13485 and 9001 certifications.

About this Opportunity:

This position is responsible for In-process inspection, Lot inspection, creating and compiling quality reports for the Vander-Bend Manufacturing Sheet Metal and Machining divisions. The Inspector 2 is able to advise operators why a deviation occurred and how to possibly correct the deviation. The Inspector 2 will train and advise the Trainee Inspector position.

Responsibilities

• Inspect product at receiving/incoming inspection from suppliers, specifically plating and custom made parts using applicable measuring tools and test equipment.
• Inspect product In-Process (1st Piece) supplied by the operator. Inspector checks the product against the print, work order (notes) and other pertinent documentation using applicable measuring tools and test equipment.
• Advises operator of what deviations are found, why the deviation occurred and how to possibly correct the deviations.
• Performs “Lot” inspection on product “ready to” move to the next operation.
• Checks the product against the print, work order (notes) and other pertinent documentation using applicable measuring tools and test equipment.
• Creates and compiles quality records as defined by the Quality Management System or as defined by Customer specific requirements.
• Records inspection results into the “Shopfloor” Software, linked to Visual Manufacturing system.
• Undertakes any additional responsibilities or activities as required by the Quality Manager SheetMetal.
• Assists the Director of Quality in maintaining of ISO 13485 and 9001 certifications.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5-year previous Inspection experience in a metal fabrication environment.
• Measuring tools: Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gage, Test Indicator and calibration.
• A good understanding of mathematics.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Familiar with quality management systems and calibration.
• General Inspection knowledge, methodology, metrology, plating and painting.
• Computer literate.
• Read, write and communicate in English.
