Job summary

Jabil is expanding its quality inspection capabilities at the Prince George, VA facility. The Quality Inspector II will perform detailed inspections of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assemblies to ensure they meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.

This role requires reading drawings, applying inspection methods, and supporting root cause investigations while working on 1st shift.

Qualifications

  • Three years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and quality documentation.
  • Experience with measuring tools, gauges, and inspection equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, final, and pre-shipment inspections of assemblies.
  • Verify proper assembly of valves, fittings, hoses, wiring, and system components.
  • Read drawings and BOMs to determine acceptance criteria.
  • Identify defects and communicate nonconformances.
  • Support corrective actions with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • Maintain inspection records and support training of junior inspectors.

Summary

The Quality Inspector II is responsible for performing advanced inspections of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assemblies to ensure products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role conducts in-process, final, and pre-shipment inspections of complex large form-factor systems, identifies nonconformances, supports root cause investigations, and serves as a key quality resource within the manufacturing environment.

Starting Pay Rate: $25.00/hr.

1st Shift
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed in-process, final, and pre-shipment inspections of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Verify proper assembly and installation of valves, fittings, hoses, tubing, torque-critical fasteners, electrical connections, wiring, and system components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, specifications, BOMs, and quality documentation to determine product acceptance criteria.
  • Select and perform appropriate inspection methods, including first article inspections, sampling plans, and 100% inspections.
  • Identify , document, and communicate defects, nonconformances, and workmanship concerns.
  • Investigate quality issues, determine potential causes, and work with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to support corrective actions.
  • Verify process compliance and ensure products meet customer, engineering, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct final audits and quality verification activities prior to product shipment.
  • Utilize measuring devices, gauges, inspection tools, and manufacturing systems to document inspection results.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Assist in training and supporting Quality Inspector I employees on inspection methods, workmanship standards, and quality procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, and process effectiveness.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all company safety, quality, environmental, and security policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years of quality inspection, manufacturing, assembly, or related experience required .
  • Visual quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment required .
  • Experience inspecting complex mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical assemblies preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly documentation, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Experience utilizing measuring tools, gauges, inspection equipment, and manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to identify defects, analyze quality issues, and support corrective action activities.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work within quality and manufacturing software systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for up to 10-12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Mechanical lifting devices and team lifts may be utilized as needed.

The hourly pay range for this role is $17.98 - $32.36. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
