Job summary

SMC Ltd. in Wisconsin is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to monitor daily in-process production and perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections.

You will use calipers, micrometers, and vision systems to ensure parts meet specifications and document data as required. The role requires 1–3 years in Quality Control, experience with precision measuring equipment, and the ability to read and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• Follow procedures for retaining samples.
• Notify Supervisor/Lead of non-conformances and follow procedures for product rejections.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and QC equipment.
• Generate labels for daily production retains/tailgates at the start of each shift.
• Responsible for supervising the rework of nonconforming product in the hold area and performing final inspection on reworked product.
• Maintain quality areas clean, neat and organized.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Minimum 1-3 years prior experience in Quality Control.
• Recommended 1-year experience in Plastic Injection Molding Environment.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment.
• Blueprint interpretation skills.
• Must have computer skills and familiarity with Word and Excel programs.
• Knowledge of SPC and ISO 9001 & 13485 system requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional and functional inspections in accordance with in-process procedures and documents in Control plan.
• Dimensionally inspect product using calipers, micrometers, and vision systems.
• Document inspection data on appropriate records.
• Record statistics on computer systems.
• Utilize gaging used in QA Lab.
• Recognize defects on molded/assembled parts.
• Read and follow requirements on a control plan.
• Maintain regular attendance, punctuality and professionalism.
