Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to ensure enclosures and assemblies meet engineering drawings, SOPs and work instructions. You will document inspections, verify conformance with specifications, and assist production to maintain quality without impeding workflow.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, using measurement tools, and uploading records. Candidates should have 2+ years in QC, pass drug and background checks, and be proficient with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience as a Quality Control Inspector with a focus on manufacturing or assemblies.
• Strong understanding of quality control principles and standards.
• Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings; read a tape measure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check.
• Desirable: QC Inspection experience for generator enclosures or similar assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret Engineering drawings, work instructions to understand product requirements.
• Verify products meet drawings and SOP requirements using tape measures, gauges, torque wrenches.
• Document inspections and testing on appropriate forms; photograph accepted condition.
• Upload inspection/testing documents to files; support Quality Lead/Engineer/Manager.
• Assist Production to ensure quality is built into the product without delaying production.
• Communicate clearly with Production and Engineering to resolve quality issues.
