Job summary

NextDeavor is seeking a Quality Inspector I in Simi Valley, CA to perform routine visual and mechanical inspections of aerospace components and assemblies. You will support the QA team, auditors, and production stakeholders to maintain AS9100/ISO compliance on a 4/10 schedule.

Responsibilities include documenting inspections, preparing reports, participating in audits, and following detailed QA procedures. A high school diploma and 1–2 years of inspection experience are required; bilingual

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1–2 years of relevant inspection or quality experience.
  • Experience using gauges, calipers, torque ranges, filler gauges, lead partition gauges, and micrometers.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and aerospace quality standards such as AS9100.
  • Experience completing First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102.
  • Ability to follow detailed job instructions and apply a systematic QA approach.
  • Skilled at measuring and using test equipment and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and parts lists.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine visual inspection of soldered connections and mechanical inspections of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Apply inspector process knowledge and standard procedures to execute routine tasks and acceptance/rejection reporting.
  • Prepare documentation for inspected and tested items and participate in corrective action follow-ups.
  • Implement and maintain technical quality assurance procedures.
  • Inspect wires and sensors using ring gauges, calipers, torque ranges, micrometers, and other measurement tools.
  • Support and participate in internal audits and AS9100/ISO compliance activities.
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; be available for variable schedules, nights, weekends, or additional hours as necessary.
