In this position, you will play a vital role in verifying that both finished assemblies and procured parts adhere to strict regulatory and quality benchmarks, providing essential support to our production and inspection departments. This is a safety-sensitive, onsite position primarily based on the first shift, though flexibility for nights, weekends, or shifting schedules is required; please note that all employees are subject to random drug screenings.
Core Responsibilities
- Verify the quality of incoming components and final assemblies to help the team maintain high compliance standards.
- Examine electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies through visual and mechanical inspection methods.
- Evaluate soldered assemblies to ensure they meet IPC-A-610 requirements and inspect harness assemblies.
- Develop and evaluate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) following AS9102 guidelines.
- Generate necessary documentation, including certifications and Authorized Release Certificates, to facilitate the acceptance or rejection of parts.
- Collect statistical product and process data while keeping accurate records for inspection and calibration cycles.
- Report quality issues and identify potential process or design improvements to enhance overall efficiency.
- Conduct inspections on behalf of customers when requested.
- Ensure reliable and punctual attendance, with the willingness to work extra hours when the business requires it.
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in an inspection role, ideally within the electronics or aerospace sectors.
- A High School Diploma, Secondary Certificate, or the equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to produce and audit First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102).
- Competence in interpreting complex technical drawings and performing visual inspections per IPC-A-610 standards.
- Skilled in using measurement tools and applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented capabilities.
- Solid computer literacy and the ability to execute both written and spoken directives.
- Physical capability to lift up to 30 lbs and handle standard light tasks in a production environment.
- Acknowledgment that this is a safety-sensitive role requiring participation in random drug testing.
Preferred Experience
- Completion of vocational training, relevant apprenticeships, or equivalent field experience.
- Background working within aerospace manufacturing settings.
Compensation
The hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $19.20 to $24.00.
