Job summary

Total Aviation Staffing in Garner Field Airport, Uvalde, TX, seeks an experienced MRO Quality Inspector to ensure FAA compliance and airworthiness across aircraft maintenance operations. You will verify that aircraft, engines, components, and records meet regulatory requirements and customer standards.

You will review maintenance paperwork, ensure use of current manuals and data, identify nonconformities, and support audits while promoting safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • FAA A&P certificate required or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance, inspection, or quality experience.
  • Experience in FAA Part 145 repair station environment.
  • Ability to interpret aircraft manuals and data and apply approved repair documentation.

Job description

Join a leading aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) organization at Garner Field Airport in Uvalde, Texas. We are seeking an experienced MRO Quality Inspector to help ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, airworthiness, and regulatory compliance across business aircraft maintenance operations.

In this role, you’ll work closely with maintenance, engineering, and management teams to verify that aircraft, components, parts, and maintenance records meet FAA requirements and customer standards. Your expertise will play a critical role in maintaining safe, compliant, and reliable aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect aircraft, engines, components, and systems to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and customer requirements.
  • Review work orders, task cards, maintenance records, and related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify that technicians are using current manufacturer manuals, FAA-approved data, and applicable technical documentation.
  • Confirm parts meet identification, traceability, certification, and installation eligibility requirements.
  • Identify, document, and resolve discrepancies, defects, and nonconforming work.
  • Assist with quality investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Technicians, Crew Chiefs, Maintenance Management, and Engineering personnel to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain inspection stamps, authorization records, and quality documentation.
  • Support internal and external audits, major repairs, and other quality-related activities.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
  • Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance, inspection, or quality experience.
  • Hands-on experience in an FAA Part 145 repair station environment.
  • Strong knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43, 65, and 145.
  • Thorough understanding of aircraft maintenance records, airworthiness requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to interpret and apply aircraft maintenance manuals, technical data, and approved repair documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and address nonconforming work.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) is preferred but not required.
  • Business jet and Part 135 experience is preferred.
  • $50.00 per hour competitive pay.
