Responsibilities

• Sort corn to maintain seed quality and remove discard waste.
• Identify off-type ears, immature or moldy ears, insect damage, crop debris.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE during all tasks.
• Keep the work area clean and organized (sweeping, debris removal).
• Move undamaged seed forward in the drying process to improve quality.

Pay Rate $17.00/hour

Shift: Harvest hours run Monday - Sunday 6:00am to approximately 6:00pm, may work 12+ hours or may work 8 hour staggered starts, At least 1 day off per week

What’s a typical day as Quality Inspector? You’ll be:

• Sorting corn to maintain quality of seed and removing discard waste

• Identifying off-type ears, immature or moldy ears, insect damage, crop debris, and junk

• Abiding by safety policies/procedures and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Maintaining cleanliness of the work environment (sweeping, removing debris, etc.)

• Moving undamaged seed forward in the drying process to increase quality and reduce foreign material

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Can stand or sit for long periods and traverse stairs

• Have good eyesight and can clearly communicate in English

• Have reliable transportation and consistent attendance

• Are comfortable working in an environment with exposure to dust and corn dust

• Can wear closed toe shoes, long pants, and short sleeve shirts

• Are able to pass a drug screen prior to start

• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred, not required)
