Job description

Meyer Utility Structures is searching for a Quality Inspector in our Lancaster, SC plant. As a Quality Inspector, you’ll be part of a dedicated team that’s committed to making the best utility structures in the world. You’ll provide visual/measured inspections/tests of materials/products to ensure conformance with standards and determine if products meet all requirements. The Inspector will also complete inspection records and report and follow appropriate codes and regulations.

Meyer Utility Structures is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete, lattice, and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications.

Schedule: Rotating Nights 7pm-7am with occasional overtime as needed.

What You’ll Do:

1. Make visual and measured inspections of products to ensure conformance with standards and determine if product meets all requirements.
2. May inspect materials or plates, outgoing materials, fittings, and welds throughout the manufacturing process.
3. May perform destructive or nondestructive examination to verify specified dimension, strengths, and other quality factors using measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
4. May perform magnetic particle inspection.
5. Complete inspection records and reports.
6. Follow all safety rules and practices.
7. May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

1. A minimum of 6 months experience.
2. Familiarity with appropriate codes and regulations.
3. Basic reading and interpretation of blueprints and/or specifications.
4. Basic knowledge of inspection tools and measuring equipment.
5. Basic knowledge of operational functions to be inspected.
6. Ability to complete training for NDE inspection in VT, UT, or Mag Particle methods.
7. Ability to maintain good attendance.
