Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division seeks aQuality Inspector in Greenwood, SC. The hourly rate is $20.94/hour and the position is eligible for a variable incentive program. Core hours are 5AM–3PM, Monday through Thursday.

You will review drawings, inspect parts, maintain defect records, prepare DMRs, and ensure conformance to drawings. Strong communication and problem‑solving skills are required; high school diploma or GED is needed, engineering degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• No immigration sponsorship offered; applicants must be within 50 miles of Greenwood, SC.
• Two-year technical degree in Engineering (preferred).
• At least 1 year of assembly experience.
• At least 1 year of MS Windows environment experience (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Ensure checklists, red tags, and process changes are completed with certified signatures.
• Notify area supervisors and managers of problems to resolve CARs before shipment.
• Maintain records of defect information for historical database.
• Use and maintain inspection equipment properly.
• Review drawings to identify defects and coordinate with teams.
• Support problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
• Verify work completion to specifications.
• Prepare DMRs for non-conforming material and contact suppliers for returns.
• Inspect reject parts withhold tags and verify non-conformance.
• Maintain and update critical parts codes and retention records.
• Meet customer needs for final shipment.

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Quality Inspector. The hourly rate for this position is $20.94/hour per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

CORE HOURS: 5AM - 3PM (Monday thru Thursday)

What you’ll do:

• Ensure certain all checklists, red tags, and written process changes are complete and cleared by certified personnel signatures. You will also notify area supervisors, production managers, and others as required of problems in a timely manager to resolve CAR’s prior to shipment dates.
• Keep records on all defect information to establish historical database.
• Properly use and maintain inspection equipment.
• Review drawings and examine structure to isolate defects and utilize all appropriate resources such as supervisors, production managers, engineers, and product managers.
• Support problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
• Verify work completion to the specification.
• Complete incoming critical part inspection for proper documentation and conformance to current drawing revision. You will prepare Wisper Defective Material Reports (DMRs) for non-conforming material. You will contact supplies for material return authorization.
• Ensure reject parts withhold tags received from work areas are inspected to verify non-conformance.
• Maintain and change critical parts codes and have responsibility for record retention of critical parts for incoming materials.
• Meet customer needs for final shipment.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two-year technical degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of assembly experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in MS Windows environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 50 pounds. The employee may be required to use material handling equipment, including powered industrial vehicles. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to listen and to talk.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to noise and frequently exposed to dust.
