Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking a Quality Inspector for our Fort Walton Beach, FL site. The role involves inspecting assemblies against drawings, ensuring conformance to procedures, and documenting results in company systems.

The candidate should have 1–5 years in electronics QC, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. This is a Monday–Friday, 6:00am–3:30pm position on a 9/80 schedule with standard benefits.

Qualifications

  • Verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and part specifications.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Oracle.
  • Experience with inspection tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and customer drawings to determine acceptance or rework.
  • Perform visual inspections with high accuracy of physical properties.
  • Verify build and test processes are completed.
  • Record data in software tools and communicate issues to quality team.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure quality and compliance.

Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Inspector at our Fort Walton beach, FL location. Hours are Monday-Friday 6:00am-3:30pm on a 9/80 schedule

Essential Functions:
  • Works from blueprints, customer drawings, engineering change notices, military standards, and established operating procedures to determine acceptance, rejection or rework requirements of assembled units or supplier components
  • Conducts visual inspections with high level of accuracy to verify physical properties
  • Ensures the build and test manufacturing process has been completed
  • Proactively communicates errors and systemic trends to the quality organization
  • Enters data into software tools
  • Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience: 1-5 years experience as a Quality Inspector or Assembler in an electronics manufacturing environment required
  • Knowledge: Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Skills/Abilities: Effective verbal and written communication skills; Competence to perform inspections using calipers, thread gages, scales, micro-hite; General PC skills, including Word, Excel and Oracle; Ability to interpret drawings and part specifications; Accurate color vision and depth perception; Vision corrected to 20/20; Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, including interfacing with Order Management, Internal Quality Engineers, Customers and other Internal Management personnel
  • Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Eligibility Requirement:

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. Additionally, as a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants selected could be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with AS9100 standards
  • Familiar with AS9102 First Article Requirements
Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes Involves handling parts in compliance with Electrostatic Discharge Devices (ESD procedures) Standing: 10% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task Sitting: 90% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task Lifting (in pounds): up to 40 pounds Pushing (in pounds): up to 40 pounds Mental/Visual: use of computer Workspace: work bench
