Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking a Shop Tech II for the Quality Inspection team at the New Stanton, PA facility. The role is an on-site position requiring five days per week, performing inspections, tests, and examinations per established procedures to ensure product conformity.

The candidate will work under the Assistant Area Manager of I&CE Operations, with responsibilities spanning setup, surveillance, result reporting, calibration checks, and adherence to safety training and

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• 2+ years relevant experience with demonstrated electrical, mechanical, machining or inspection skills.
• Specific knowledge of electrical or mechanical drawing, or machining plus required mathematics.
• United States Department of Labor Journeyman Certification.
• Qualification and certification for Inspection to ANSI N45.2.6 Certification to Visual VT-1 Mechanical Experience with Inspection of electrical parts.
• IPC-610 and IPC-620 certifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform the inspections, examinations, and tests according to documented procedures and industry practices.
• Plan inspections, examinations, and tests.
• Set up tests, including related equipment.
• Oversee and maintain surveillance of inspections, examinations, and tests.
• Report inspection, examination, and test results.
• Evaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection, examination, and test results.
• Determine if the calibration status of inspection and measuring equipment is current.
• Determine that the measuring and test equipment (M&TE) is in proper condition before use.
• Ensure that the inspection, examination, and test procedures are approved before use.
• Follow up quickly and consistently to bring issues to closure, set challenging goals and achieve measurable results.
• Complete and maintain applicable site specific safety training including Electrical Safety; Radiation safety; Hazards communication; Respiratory protection; Lifting/Handling; PPE Use. Complete certifications as applicable; train to job applicable procedures.
• Mechanical inspections may include:
• Physically measure the product with measuring & testing equipment.
• Basic setup and operation of 3D Coordinate Measuring Machine and 2D measurement systems.
• Electrical inspections may include:
• Operate Electrical Test Equipment.
• Operate Test Panels.
• Crimp, Solder, and assembly verifications per design specifications and standards.
• Visual inspections include:
• Look for defects in the product.
• Manage work related to deliveries including scanning/reviewing inspection files against customer requirements, completing packaging and labeling requirements.
