Job summary

Belden Universal is seeking a Quality Inspection Technician to ensure conformance of universal joints and precision components in a first-shift role. You will perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections, oversee gage calibration, and mentor others on inspection best practices in a fast-paced aerospace-grade environment.

Applicants should have 5+ years in quality within CNC machining, strong GD&T (ASME Y14.5) literacy, and experience with ISO 9001/AS9100.

Qualifications

• Hands-on inspection experience with mechanical measurement tools.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Minimum of 5 years in quality/manufacturing in a CNC machining environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 environments and FAI.
• Knowledge of SPC, tolerance stackups, and measurement uncertainty.

Responsibilities

• Perform first piece, in-process, and final inspection to verify conformance to specification.
• Inspect product visually for defects, burrs, and surface finish issues prior to release.
• Oversee the gage program, including calibration schedules and control of inspection equipment.
• Mentor production floor personnel on inspection best practices to build in-process quality ownership.
• Create inspection specifications per customer and engineering requirements.
• Develop work instructions to standardize inspection and quality processes.
• Prepare Certificates of Conformance and FAIR packs; assist PPAP submissions.
• Partner with Quality Manager on root cause analysis and corrective actions.

We are seeking a Quality Inspection Technician who is eager to learn and grow in our AS9100 manufacturing environment. In this role, you will work side-by-side with experienced Quality professionals, machinists, and engineers to assure quality and generate compliance documentation for our universal joints and other precision components. CMM operation experience a plus.• Technical Literacy: Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, with a demonstrated mastery of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).• Manufacturing Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working in quality or manufacturing in a CNC machining environment.• Communication & Organization: Good communication and organizational skills.• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.• Quality Systems Experience: Previous experience working in ISO 9001 or AS9100 environments.
