Job summary

RivCut Inc. in Union City, CA is seeking a Quality Inspector Intern to gain hands-on experience in precision manufacturing quality control while learning CMM operation, GD&T interpretation, and inspection techniques alongside our quality team.

As an intern, you will inspect aerospace, medical, and automotive components, develop practical skills with CMMs and precision tools, and contribute to accurate quality records. High-potential interns may convert to full-time after program completion.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed degree/certificate program in manufacturing, quality, engineering, or related field.
• 1+ year of relevant coursework, lab experience, or hands-on manufacturing exposure.
• Basic understanding of precision measurement concepts.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Eagerness to learn and accept constructive feedback.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with first-article and in-process inspections under supervision.
• Learn to operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and optical comparators.
• Practice using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, pin gauges).
• Study engineering drawings and GD&T specifications with guidance from senior inspectors.
• Help create and maintain inspection reports and quality records.
• Support receiving inspection of incoming materials.
• Assist with calibration tracking and equipment maintenance logs.
• Participate in quality team meetings and continuous improvement discussions.
• Learn aerospace quality management system procedures.
• Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly.
• Maintain organized inspection area following 5S principles.
• Shadow experienced inspectors during complex inspections.
