About the Role:

The Quality Inspection Lead is responsible for leading inspection operations to ensure products and components meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. This role provides technical leadership for inspection activities, including programming and troubleshooting automated measuring inspection equipment, while supporting ISO9001/AS9100 compliance, product conformity, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses aerospace manufacturing experience, expertise in blueprint interpretation and GD&T, and the ability to lead a team in an environment where safety, accuracy, and traceability are critical.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate daily quality inspection activities across multiple production lines to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain inspection procedures and protocols to detect product defects and deviations early in the manufacturing process.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise quality inspection staff to enhance their skills and ensure consistent application of quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and supply chain to address quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze inspection data and generate detailed reports to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal quality management systems.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to elevate overall product quality.
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude; cooperate with co-workers, management, internal and external customers, etc.
  • Execute daily process improvement using lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Maintain work area by the use of 6S principles
  • Work safely at all times and report any unsafe conditions or injuries to your supervisor or manager immediately

Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Certification such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment, such as aerospace, defense, automotive, or medical devices.
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional quality improvement projects a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, inspection tools, and industry standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing quality inspection processes.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or related field and/or up to 4 years relevant work experience preferred.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to perform calculations utilizing algebra and fractions.
Computer Skills
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Vantage system is a plus.

Pay Range

The hiring range for this role is $30.00 to $35.00 hourly. The hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
