Job summary

SureFire, LLC in Fountain Valley, CA is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure our manufactured products meet strict quality standards from early production through final assembly. About the Role:

The Quality Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring that all manufactured products meet stringent quality standards and comply with production specifications. This position involves conducting detailed inspections and measurements to verify product conformity from initial production stages through final assembly. The inspector will utilize precision measuring instruments and optical comparators to perform First Article Inspections and ongoing quality checks on the assembly line. By identifying defects or deviations early, the Quality Inspector helps maintain product integrity, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and reduces costly rework or recalls. Ultimately, this role ensures that all products delivered meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements, contributing to the overall success and reputation of the manufacturing operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform First Article Inspections to validate new or modified product designs against engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and optical comparators to conduct dimensional and visual inspections on components and assemblies.
  • Monitor assembly line processes to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards and identify any non-conformances promptly.
  • Document inspection results accurately and communicate findings to production teams and quality management for corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production departments to support root cause analysis and implement process improvements.
  • Perform internal auditing of production processes using product work instructions.
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude; cooperate with co-workers, management, internal and external customers, etc.
  • Execute daily process improvement using lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Maintain work area by the use of 6S principles
  • Work safely at all times and report any unsafe conditions or injuries to your supervisor or manager immediately
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Certification in quality inspection or quality management systems (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector) preferred.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators a plus.
  • Knowledge of assembly line operations and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong understanding of product specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
  • Ability to perform detailed visual inspections and document findings accurately.
Education
  • High school diploma or GED, and up to one year work experience preferred.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to perform calculations utilizing arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division normally attained through elementary school education.
Computer Skills
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Pay Range

The hiring hourly pay range for this role is $25.00 to $30.00. The hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
