Job summary

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is seeking a Quality Lead to oversee quality inspector staff and ensure adherence to the ISO 9001 standard within our Denver manufacturing facility. You will coordinate inspections, support on-time delivery, and drive continual improvement of the Quality Management System.

The role requires 3+ years of supervision in a manufacturing setting, familiarity with Qualtrax/JDE, and hands-on use of precision inspection tools such as CMMs and Zeiss/Keyence equipment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of quality supervision experience in an ISO 9001 certified manufacturing environment.
  • Qualtrax, Seebrez Programming and JD Edwards experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and evaluate drawings, specifications and procedures with GD&T knowledge.
  • Experience using precision inspection instruments (micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, CMM).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; high attention to detail; problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Qualtrax, JDE, Microsoft Office; capable of writing SPC software/programs for automated inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and coordinates quality inspector staff duties and schedules.
  • Actively performs inspections to support on-time delivery.
  • Communicates with the Quality Manager to determine actions and priorities.
  • Implements quality training programs with the Quality Manager.
  • Maintains and improves the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensures final inspection activities are performed effectively and efficiently.
  • Manages calibration of measuring and test equipment; oversees gage/fixture checkout and blue light activities.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and promotes a safe work environment.
  • Trains inspectors and operators on new systems and quality updates.

  • Pay or shift range: $28 USD to $31 USD

Description

The Quality Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordination quality inspector duties, as well as playing an active role in providing inspection support as well as maintaining the Quality Management System QMS and standardization of inspection methods, processes and procedures in support of TSS Denver’s Vision–Mission–Values (VMV).

  • Oversees and coordinates quality inspector staff duties and expectations, including work schedules.
  • Actively performing inspections as needed to support OTD.
  • Communicate, report, and coordinate with the Quality Manager to establish and determine required actions, priorities, development of project, standardization opportunities.
  • Implements quality training programs to inspection personnel in conjunction with the Quality Manager.
  • Plays active role in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System within organization.
  • Ensures final inspection activities are performed effectively and efficiently.

  • Ensures material testing is performed efficiently and on a timely basis.
  • Oversight and reporting of Calibration of measuring & test equipment and inspection tools.
  • Oversight of Gage/fixture Checkout system.
  • Oversight and reporting of Blue light activities.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Instill an awareness and knowledge of accuracy and safety among the employees to minimize accidents and provide a safe work environment.
  • Train inspectors & operators on new systems, quality updates and other areas as needed.
  • Demonstrates understanding, support and consistent application of our Vision, Mission and Core Values
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

This position requires a minimum of 3 years previous quality supervision experience in a ISO 9001 certified manufacturing environment.

Previous experience with Qualtrax, Seebrez Programming, and/or JD Edwards is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Have the ability to read and evaluate drawings, specifications and procedures to identify requirements. This also includes knowledge of and use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Have experience using precision inspection instruments (e.g. micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, CMM, etc.) and know when and where they are used, including accuracy and efficiency.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills (root cause analysis).
  • Good to intermediate computer skills to be proficient with Qualtrax, JDE, Microsoft Office as well as writing programs for SPC software and automated inspection measuring equipment (Zeiss, Keyence, QC Calc, CMM).
  • Knowledge of materials and material requirements as they relate to customer orders. (ASTM, AMS, Customer Specifications.)
  • Ability to program and operate the Zeiss, Keyence, Q Calc, and Coordinate Measurement Machine.
  • Must have the ability to train other personnel.
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Equipment Used

This position is located in a manufacturing facility which requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, squatting, twisting, and bending. This position will spend about 90% of their time on the production floor where heavy machinery is present and loud sounds exist. Requires lifting up to 50 lbs. Requires manual dexterity for typing.

Pay range: $28.00-31.00/ hour based on experience.
