Position Overview





The School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking a Quality Improvement Project Coordinator.

The primary purpose of this role is to support the DNP program and DNP faculty in mentoring DNP students' quality improvement (QI) projects. The QI Project Coordinator also provides support, guidance and resources to DNP students, prospective students, and the HCHHS and SON, Administration, faculty, and staff.

The ideal candidate will be expected to: (i) supervise and support DNP student projects; (ii) incorporate modern pedagogical skills in teaching non-clinical nursing courses at the SON as needed (iv ) provide service to the SON, the college and university as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations.

Partnering with other John R. and Kathy R. Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences (HCHHS) and School of Nursing (SON) staff to coordinate activities related to student support services for their QI projects.

This position is a full-time 12-month non-faculty position with adjunct teaching opportunities.

The John R. and Kathy R. Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences (HCHHS) comprises six departments and the School of Nursing. The HCHHS offers the following undergraduate degree programs; Communication Sciences and Disorders, Health Services Management, Kinesiology, Nursing, Psychology, and Social Work, Sociology. At the graduate level, HCHHS offers four graduate degree programs including the Masters in Physician Assistant Studies (PA program), Master of Social Work (MSW), Master of Science in Health Psychology and PhD in Social Work. Three additional doctoral programs being are being developed; Doctor of Nurse practice (DNP), PhD in Applied Psychology, and PhD in Sociology. The HCHHS is also home to the Center of Excellence in Integrative Health Disparities and Equity Research (CIHDER), a hub for multidisciplinary research and community engagement efforts to alleviate health inequities. The HCHHS capitalizes on the synergistic relationships between these departments to develop advanced academic health science programming, enhance the training of healthcare practitioners, and conduct collaborative multidisciplinary research and scholastic activity.

Minimum Requirements
* Applicants must hold a master's degree in nursing or healthcare-related disciplines from an accredited college or university


* Experience in student project mentoring

*A minimum of three years of experience in teaching or working with graduate students or nursing students
*Skills in scientific writing and editing
*Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and the reduction of health disparities *Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
