Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Construction QA/QC Specialist to assist Superintendents and Project Managers in delivering mission-critical projects in Illinois. You will ensure quality from inception through turnover and support QA/QC plans with field inspections and documentation.

Candidates should have 1+ years in construction management, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and proficiency with Procore, AutoDesk, Bluebeam, and Smartsheet. Travel and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil/structural engineering or construction management.
Experience with QA/QC in construction preferred.
Willingness to travel.
Strong communication with trade partners and project teams.

Responsibilities

Assist Superintendents and Project Managers in project completion.
Support QA/QC plans and field inspections for projects.
Coordinate third-party testing and inspections.
Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with specs.

Job description

Assist Superintendents and Project Managers in project completion
Ensure all phases of mission-critical projects are carried out with the desired level of quality from inception through turnover
Support the Quality Manager with implementation and execution of project-specific QA/QC plans
Conduct daily walkthroughs and field inspections for CSA and/or MEP installations
Monitor and update Inspection Test Plans, test logs, inspection logs, and quality-control tracking records
Compile photographic evidence and supporting documentation for QA/QC activities
Monitor deficiencies and document corrective actions
Support completion lists, punch lists, and phase turnover activities
Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications
Participate in preparatory meetings and first work inspections
Coordinate third-party testing and track special inspections using Smartsheet Work Apps
Track AHJ inspections and file documentation in project management software
Share lessons learned with project teams and trade partners

Requirements

1+ years of successful construction management experience
A bachelor’s degree in architectural, civil, structural engineering or construction management
Previous construction quality control experience is preferred
Willingness to travel
Mission-critical mindset and attention to detail
Excellent communication with trade partners and project team members
High level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity
Knowledge and experience with project management software like Procore, AutoDesk, CxAlloy, Bluebeam, Smartsheet
Position requires verification of employment to work in the U.S.
