Job summary

Joby Aviation is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for quality engineering within our manufacturing footprint. You will oversee manufacturing controls, design controls, nonconformance, risk management, data analytics, and product improvement in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Reporting to the Senior Quality Engineering Manager, you will drive quality assurance across the production process and build a culture of quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years in quality engineering or related field, or 11+ years without degree.
• Minimum 3 years of direct people management experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, composite, or electrical systems and standard manufacturing controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Quality Engineers and ensure compliant manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with Quality Leadership to align with immediate and long-term Company goals.
• Manage MRB (Material Review Board) and implement robust corrective actions.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure PFMEA and Control Plans are captured and implemented.
• Develop operational plans and ensure uninterrupted support to engineering and manufacturing operations.
