Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Manager to lead the Quality function at our Windsor Locks, CT facility. You will manage our Quality Management System, drive continuous improvement, and partner with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Customer teams to meet stringent quality requirements.

The role requires hands-on leadership with a balance of strategic initiatives and day-to-day manufacturing and customer needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive quality experience, preferably within aerospace or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of Quality leadership or management experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace quality requirements.
  • Experience managing audits, corrective actions, nonconformances, and customer complaints.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and quality control systems.
  • Experience working directly with aerospace customers and suppliers.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the site's Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100 and applicable customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer specifications, and applicable aerospace standards.
  • Manage internal, external, customer, and certification audits.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions resulting from audit findings and quality issues.
  • Monitor Quality KPIs and develop action plans to improve overall quality performance.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and documentation.
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to ensure manufacturing processes consistently produce conforming products.
  • Establish and monitor quality standards, inspection requirements, and process controls.
  • Lead root-cause investigations for nonconforming products and manufacturing issues.
  • Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and corrective action analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, customer complaints, and process variation.
  • Support the development and implementation of process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Manager to lead and manage the Quality function at our Windsor Locks CT facility. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the site's Quality Management System while ensuring that products, processes, and services meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.

The Quality Manager will serve as a key partner to Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Customer teams. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in aerospace manufacturing, quality systems, problem solving, and customer quality requirements, along with the leadership skills necessary to build a strong culture of quality throughout the organization.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires the ability to balance strategic quality initiatives with day-to-day manufacturing and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System
  • Lead and maintain the site's Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100 and applicable customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Establish clear objectives and performance expectations for Quality personnel.
  • Promote a culture in which quality is viewed as the responsibility of the entire organization.
  • Provide training and coaching on quality systems, problem solving, and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain leadership.
Required Qualifications
