Job summary

At Tenneco, the Quality Supervisor supports the quality manager in implementing and maintaining the QMS, driving continuous improvement to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4-6 years of experience in automotive quality, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of automotive OE quality systems and requirements preferred.
• ASQ CQE and/or CQA preferred.
• Direct experience with IATF 16949, including PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and related processes.
• Strong knowledge of SPC, DOE, and GD&T.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, including proficiency in 8-D methodology.
• Experience with internal and external audits.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and quality data analysis software.
• Leadership presence with ability to inspire and train teams.
• Travel 10-15% (limited travel).
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, depending on facility location.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate formal and informal problem-solving activities to reduce scrap and improve product quality.
• Provide training and coaching in QMS tools and methodologies.
• Support compliance with external customer requirements and interface with cross-functional teams.
• Plan, conduct, and report system, process, and product audits; support ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certification.
• Lead audits and manage audits with external bodies when applicable.
• Analyze risks and provide recommendations to Plant Management and Corporate Quality.
• Coordinate customer corrective actions and ensure timely containment and effectiveness checks.
• Supervise Gage and Metrology functions when assigned and ensure calibration compliance.
