Dealpath is seeking a player-coach Quality Engineering lead to drive end-to-end quality across delivery teams in a hybrid San Francisco setting. You will stay close to technical work, mentor embedded Quality Engineers, and shape testing standards and AI-related QA practices across the organization.

In this role, you will own quality strategy, establish release criteria, and push for measurable improvements in defect escape rates.

Formación

• 7+ years in quality engineering, SDET, or similar roles, including leading or guiding a QA team or function.
• Hands-on testing work: design, automation, and coding in SaaS environments.
• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, or similar, and one language used in modern SaaS (TypeScript, Python, or Go).
• Evidence-based approach with metrics to reduce escaped defects.
• Cross-team influence across Engineering, Product, Design, and Customer Success.
• AI fluency with tools like Cursor, Copilot, or Claude; deliberate review before use.

Responsabilidades

• Find the next gains: study people, process, and systems to spot issues and propose changes (automation, tooling, processes).
• Set the standard: define test strategy, release criteria, and shared tooling for delivery teams.
• Coach and grow the team: guide embedded QE, run community of practice, set hiring bar.
• Choose what to automate: review test design and code; build shared frameworks where needed.
• Shape how we test AI: define AI testing strategies and coach teams on AI tools.
• Show the results: run blameless postmortems and publish escape-rate trend scorecards.
• Shape engineering strategy: partner with VP of Engineering on quality culture and roadmaps.
