Job summary

Applicants must be enrolled in a BS program in a related field and be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in BS program in a technical field related to materials science or metallurgy.
• Completion of at least sophomore year by Summer 2027.

Responsibilities

• Complete monthly safety inspections and safety observations for Metallurgical Department.
• Work safely and follow plant safety policies.
• Manage workflow in the mechanical and chemical test lab.
• Manage test equipment calibrations.
• Create new operating efficiencies to maintain production, testing, and shipping with leaner workforce.
• Maintain Steelmaking spectrometer lab, calibration, and on-call support.
• Data-mining investigations on metallurgical grade performance, chemistry, scrap charges, etc.
• Metallurgical grade maintenance and development.
• Manage third-party testing inspection.
• Track Steelmaking scrap, referrals, and diversions.
• Conduct Metallurgical investigations.
