Job summary

Antares in Torrance, CA is offering a Summer Internship in Quality Engineering. You will work onsite five days a week, tackle real projects, and learn to inspect nuclear systems and components while collaborating with design, manufacturing, and test teams.

You will begin with starter tasks and progress to a long‑term project with a final deliverable and presentation, gaining hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in at least a bachelor’s degree program in an engineering discipline and entering junior or senior year.
• Prior internship or significant project experience in a team/lab setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop inspection methods for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Support the qualification and implementation of inspection equipment and techniques.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, test, supply chain, and materials teams to validate hardware.
• Characterize measurement and inspection uncertainty and document technical conclusions.
• Help ensure rigor and traceability in the build of nuclear systems, structures, and components.
• Research new tools and technologies to close gaps in the Quality Engineering team.
• Develop automation and implement process improvements that increase inspection effectiveness and repeatability.
• Own a long‑duration project through a final technical deliverable and presentation while communicating progress, risks, and opportunities.
