Job summary

Antares is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to contribute to development and test builds of fission microreactors at our Torrance, CA facility. You will help create work instructions, plan test builds, and learn how manufacturing and engineering come together to scale hardware.

You'll work with cross-functional teams, touch hardware and documentation, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-moving engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
• Hands-on coursework, student projects, or employment demonstrating practical skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Develop, revise, and release manufacturing work instructions for development and test hardware.
• Plan and execute test builds with materials, tools, sequencing, and documentation.
• Develop concepts of operations (CONOPS) defining objectives, workflow, safety considerations, and outcomes.
• Lead defined portions of test and development builds under guidance of manufacturing engineers.
• Perform hands-on assembly, integration, inspection, and test support for assigned hardware and training.
• Capture build data, deviations, issues, and lessons learned; translate findings into improved instructions and processes.
• Partner with design, test, quality, and operations to resolve build issues and incorporate manufacturability feedback.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and quality-focused work environment following procedures.
