Job summary

Wieland in Delaware, OH is hiring a Quality Engineer to ensure product integrity through inspection, testing, and calibration, and to support continuous improvement initiatives.

The role collaborates with cross-functional teams, manages supplier quality activities, maintains ISO certifications, and requires travel to suppliers as needed; the on-site position emphasizes hands-on QA in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Material Science or Engineering
• Experience with ISO certifications.
• Experience in QA tools such as PPAP, Process FMEA, Control Plan, Risk Assessment, Internal Audits, and Gauge Management and Calibration.
• Ability to travel to suppliers and other company locations as needed.
• Ability to work flexible work hours and overtime, as needed.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and extensive knowledge of LEAN tools and techniques for improvement.
• Experience in project management.
• Previous experience in a similar industry is beneficial.
• Proficient in SAP, Factory Suite, data entry, daily/monthly reports, and MS Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Sustain current QA processes while driving continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
• Manage supplier quality claims and support customer quality requests.
• Lead supplier quality activities and monitor performance with North American suppliers.
• Own supplier quality topics and documentation: PPAPs, 8D, deviations, waivers, and change requests.
• Coordinate incoming part/material inspections with Receiving, Production, and Suppliers.
• Support ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 audits and readiness.
• Track and report quality KPIs to Management.
