Job summary

Lockheed Martin seeks a Senior Quality Engineer to ensure product and process quality across design, production, and supplier domains. You will drive quality throughout the lifecycle and collaborate with program management, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.

The ideal candidate will apply formal quality methods, lead investigations, and implement corrective actions while supporting ongoing improvements. This role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's level degree in STEM or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Security clearance.
• Engineering or Quality experience developing methods, work instructions and procedures for inspection of manufactured and procured products.
• Able to interpret drawings and specifications to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods and translate into work instructions / process documents.
• Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical / process issues.

Responsibilities

What You Will Be Doing

As the Sr Quality Engineer you will be responsible for applying quality principles throughout the product lifecycle, from design through manufacturing and supplier management.

This position is in Troy. Discover more about our Troy, Alabama location. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. A company-sponsored interim Secret clearance is required to start.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors level degree or higher in STEM or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Security clearance.
• Engineering or Quality experience developing methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products.
• Able to interpret drawings and specifications to develop and apply quality test and inspection methods and able to translate into work instructions / process documents.
• Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical / process issues varying from basic to very complex.
• Experience in disposition of non-conforming products.
• Knowledge Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
• Knowledge of Configuration and Data Management.

Desired Skills

• STEM degree at bachelors' level or higher preferred
• Lean / Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt / Black Belt)
• ASQ Certification: Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA).
• Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements.
• Strong understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Experience working with Government customers.
• Demonstrated presentation skills to management and peer groups.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills for team building and collaborating cross-functionally
• Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
