Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Quality Engineer to apply quality principles across design, materials, production control and product evaluation for make and buy items. The role collaborates with program management, engineering and manufacturing to resolve quality issues and drive corrective actions.

The engineer will engage in supplier selection, certification maintenance, and perform product quality testing and statistical analyses to ensure reliability and compliance with requirements.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related STEM field.
  • Familiarization with GD&T and mechanical/electrical inspection methods, including developing inspection plans, First-Article Inspections to AS9102, and driving corrective actions for supplier deficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Applies quality principles across design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, and program performance to ensure quality standards.
  • Collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality issues to ensure corrective actions and reliable results.
  • Engages in supplier selection and maintains certification programs; conducts product quality tests and statistical analyses as needed.

Basic Qualifications
  • U.S.citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related STEM field
  • Familiarization with engineering drawings, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and mechanical/electrical inspection methods, including:
    • Developing inspection plans
    • Performing First‑Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements
    • Identifying, documenting, and driving corrective actions for supplier quality deficiencies
  • Work on‑site in a manufacturing environment (must be able to stand for extended periods and use required Personal Protective Equipment)
Desired Skills
  • Familiar with Quality Engineering tools like (DMAIC, RCCA, 8D,etc.)
  • Knowledge with source inspection, special‑process surveys, purchase‑order reviews, and supplier surveillance activities
  • Demonstrated leadership and customer‑relationship management abilities
  • Experience with blue‑light/structured‑light inspection
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $58200.00 - $108200.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
