Job summary

Clarios is seeking a Quality Engineer at our Toledo, Ohio plant to design, develop, and implement testing and SPC procedures to guarantee quality across manufacturing processes. You will drive product and process quality, support continuous improvement, conduct audits, and collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve quality concerns and boost performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 1 year of Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or other Quality Management Systems.
• Strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct analysis, inspections, testing, validation, and integration activities to ensure product and process quality.
• Develop and implement SPC tools, including control charts, sampling techniques, Pareto analysis, and other quality methodologies.
• Conduct internal plant audits for QMS, including IATF 16949/ISO standards, product quality, laboratory procedures, and record retention.
• Issue and follow up on corrective actions to ensure effective root cause resolution and prevent recurrence.
• Analyze process performance data using SPC methods and recommend process improvements.
• Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation, quality manuals, and quality records to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Coordinate engineering change activities and support new product introductions.
• Develop innovative solutions to quality issues identified through audits, inspections, and customer feedback.
• Communicate significant quality concerns, trends, and improvement opportunities to management.
• Prepare and present technical reports, quality metrics, and program updates to leadership.
• Develop and execute quality plans for new product development projects.
• Lead special projects assigned by the Quality Manager.
• Interface directly with customers, conduct on-site investigations, and implement corrective actions as required.
