Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking an intermediate Quality Engineer in Austin, Texas for a long-term contract through Yoh. The role focuses on manufacturing quality in semiconductor production, with 40 hours per week onsite at the Austin facility.

You'll create and monitor metrics, analyze data with SQL and Tableau, drive root cause investigations, and lead continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma. A bachelor’s or higher in engineering/science and 3+ years in quality engineering are required, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience.
• Manufacturing or Semiconductor industry experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• SQL and Tableau experience preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and monitor metrics to identify discrepant material trends.
• Analyze manufacturing data and reduce scrap/non-conforming material.
• Utilize SQL, Tableau, and advanced Excel analytics.
• Assign and track quality improvement projects.
• Facilitate meetings and provide project updates.
• Train operations personnel on quality processes.
• Perform root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Generate failure analysis reports.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers.
• Drive Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives.
