Job summary

Applied Materials in Austin, TX is seeking an intermediate Quality Engineer for a long-term contract through Yoh. The onsite role focuses on quality analytics, scrap reduction, and continuous improvement in semiconductor manufacturing.

You will design and track metrics, perform root cause analyses, use SQL, Tableau, and Excel for data analytics, and lead quality improvement projects with Lean Six Sigma. This position offers exposure to global operations and collaboration with supplier quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience.
• Manufacturing or Semiconductor industry experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• SQL and Tableau experience preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and monitor metrics to identify discrepant material trends.
• Analyze manufacturing data and reduce scrap/non-conforming material.
• Utilize SQL, Tableau, and advanced Excel analytics.
• Assign and track quality improvement projects.
• Facilitate meetings and provide project updates.
• Train operations personnel on quality processes.
• Perform root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Generate failure analysis reports.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers.
• Drive Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives.
