Job summary

Applied Materials in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to drive manufacturing quality improvements across multiple lines. You will apply Lean Six Sigma tools, lead Kaizen events, and mentor technicians to uphold world‑class standards.

You will conduct regular audits, collaborate with supplier quality engineers, and guide root-cause analyses with 8D methodology. The role requires strong problem solving and the ability to translate management goals into actionable CAPA plans.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering or science degree.
• ASQ CQE or CQ A certification preferred.
• 3+ years of quality engineering experience.
• Semiconductor manufacturing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular / weekly MRRT meetings to address manufacturing NCs and line issues, driving containment actions, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Perform quality audits within manufacturing for compliance with standards.
• Lead 8D investigations and Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers to contain non-conformances and ensure 8D effectiveness.
• Mentor and train Quality/Engg Technicians on standards and best practices.
