Job summary

Our client, a precision machining manufacturer, seeks a Quality Engineer to lead product and process quality initiatives across the organization. This role will drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality system enhancements while supporting APQP, PPAP, and customer quality requirements.

Analyze nonconforming conditions, develop corrective actions, and document PPAP paperwork to ensure all state requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • Analyze nonconforming conditions in production.
  • Communicate with process owners to resolve nonconformances with corrective/preventive actions.
  • Summarize nonconformance data and evaluate trends.
  • Prepare PPAP paperwork and related quality documentation.
  • Develop and document control plans and inspection procedures.
  • Lead internal audits of the quality system and supplier audits.
  • Plan studies of measurement repeatability and reproducibility (Gage R&R) and process capability.
  • Use advanced statistics for problem solving and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document control plans which define verifications during production to ensure all state requirements are met.
  • Develop and document inspection and verification procedures for use by department personnel.
  • Develop and document PPAP paperwork.
  • Take ownership of corrective/preventative actions (i.e., 8-D's, CAR's).
  • Develop production methods for new and existing work.
  • Complete immersion in personal and business continuous improvement.
  • Participate in APQP for new and existing work.
  • Develop internal process control plans for new and existing work.
  • Use advanced statistical knowledge for problem solving and data analysis.
  • Plan and document studies of measurement repeatability and reproducibility (Gage R&R) and process capability.
  • Perform internal audits of the quality system and verification activities; and supplier audits as requested.
  • Use inspection, measuring, and test equipment as necessary.
  • Participate in company quality improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Utilizing advanced CNC and Swiss machining technologies, they deliver reliable, cost-effective products for demanding applications. With a strong focus on quality, APQP/PPAP processes, and continuous improvement, the company supports the aerospace, defense, and automotive industries with a team of approximately 200 employees.

Profile
  • At least 3+ years of experience within quality
  • Background in a machining manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Experience with aerospace and/or automotive environments is preferred
  • Sponsorship not provided (Must be Green Card Holder or U.S. Citizen)

  • Base salary of $70k-$90k depending on experience
