Overview

Our client, a manufacturer in the automotive industry located just south of O'Hare Airport, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team. This role will support all aspects of the quality department, with a particular focus on their new Mitutoyo CMMs. Our client is a contract manufacturer specializing in precision drawn metal stampings, particularly metal cases for bonded piston, wheel-bearing, shaft, and lip seals. They primarily serve the sealing industry across automotive, industrial, and agricultural sectors. Renowned for their commitment to quality and long-standing customer relationships, this position will focus on CMM programming, GD&T, and supporting PPAPs and audits.

Base pay range

$75,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the PPAP process


• Experience with measuring equipment


• Lead Corrective Actions through Root Cause Analysis methods


• Reading and interpreting blueprints


• Help with IATF 16949 Internal Audits

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a quality manufacturing setting


• CMM programming experience with Mitutoyo machines


• Background with automotive manufacturing and the standards associated


• Experience with leading or assisting with internal audits


• Strong experience with PPAPs


• Strong root cause and corrective action experience


• GD&T experience


• No sponsorship is provided
