Job summary

AFC Materials Group in Lake in the Hills, IL is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives across manufacturing, engineering, and R&D. You will implement robust process controls and drive continuous improvement to deliver high-quality products and customer satisfaction.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage APQP activities such as FMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP, and mentor quality technicians while upholding ISO 9001 and FDA compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10 years in manufacturing quality engineering.
• Proficient with FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP.
• Strong data analysis, reporting and technical writing skills.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma and cost of quality concepts.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate activities of the quality department.
• Act as primary liaison with Engineering and R&D for new products.
• Define and implement process controls and CAPA plans.
• Mentor and develop quality technicians.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes for quality compliance.
• Oversee non-conformance investigations and corrective actions
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma methods to standardize processes
• Use 8D, 5-Why, and fishbone analyses to drive root cause resolution
• Conduct lab tests and validate product performance
• Monitor metrics and drive continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and FDA regulations
