Job summary

AFC Materials Group in Lake in the Hills, IL is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives across design, manufacturing and R&D. You’ll implement robust process controls, drive continuous improvement and ensure product performance and customer satisfaction through cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires 5–10 years in manufacturing quality, proficiency with FMEA, Control Plans and PPAP, and strong data analysis and technical writing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• 5–10 years in Quality Engineering in manufacturing.
• Proficient in FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP.
• Strong data analysis and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary liaison between Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and R&D.
• Define and implement process controls including FMEA, Control Plans and PPAP.
• Mentor and develop quality technicians.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes for compliance to quality standards.
• Oversee non-conformance investigations (RMA/NCMR) and CAPA initiatives.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma to standardize processes and reduce variability.
• Perform lab testing and validate product performance through metrology and analysis.
• Analyze data to identify trends and support decision-making.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
