Job summary

Velo3D, a leader in additive manufacturing, is seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee the qualification and maintenance of laser powder bed fusion printers and to qualify RPS printed part production.

You will work with cross functional teams and quality management to drive ongoing improvements in manufacturing, supply chain and field service, with focus on CAPAs, root cause analysis, and data driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• 1–5 years of experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100.
• Experience processing CAPAs, NCRs and root cause analysis.
• Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma (5S, TPS, TQM).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferred.
• Strong problem solving, data-driven decision making and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee qualification and maintenance of laser powder bed fusion metal 3D printers.
• Lead in-process inspection activities and collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams.
• Drive CAPA activities to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze quality data, trends, and dashboards; communicate issues promptly.
• Support investigations with engineering for strategic quality issues.
• Maintain quality performance metrics and drive improvements across production.
• Audit manufacturing lines against released processes and procedures.
• Assist with external and internal audits and FMEA activities.
• Support supplier quality and continuous improvement efforts.
