Job summary

Velo3D, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee qualification and maintenance of laser powder bed fusion metal 3D printers and qualification of printed part production. You will work with cross-functional teams to drive quality in manufacturing, supply chain, and field service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 is required.
• Experience processing CAPAs, NCRs and problem-solving/root cause analysis.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma practices, 5S, TPS, TQM.

Responsibilities

• Operate with an inspect, diagnose, and repair mindset.
• Provide in-process inspection activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, process, field service and quality teams to maintain processes and procedures for high quality.
• Drive CAPA activity and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze quality trends and communicate issues.
• Execute timely corrective actions for quality mitigation and containment.
• Support investigation and containment for strategic quality issues with engineering teams.
• Maintain quality performance metrics and drive root cause solutions.
• Audit manufacturing lines against released processes and procedures.
• Assist in identifying and resolving manufacturing quality issues.
